Intro to FSMTA Sports Massage Training
In this 2 hour training, you will get an introduction to the various aspects of Sports Massage and various aspects of a Sports Massage Therapy Team. Hear about the topics covered in the more in depth 8 hour training that include: how to successfully prepare for and conduct a sports massage event, sports massage team policies and procedures, team operations and roles as well as more in depth techniques, injury prevention and contraindications for Sports Massage. You will walk away with a Sports Massage technique that can be integrated into your current practice as well as knowledge about how to gain more in depth training for Sports Massage.

About our presenter:
Teresa Matthews is a Board Certified, Licensed Massage Therapist, Certified Personal Fitness Trainer, and National CE provider, with a BS in Health Sciences. For over 20 years, she has owned and operated a successful Massage School in Jacksonville, Florida. Today, she continues to teach advanced massage training, including Self-Defense for Massage Therapists, as well as her Certified Personal Training Program. Teresa also teaches Corporate Wellness Seminars. With over 30 years of experience in the fitness and bodywork industry, Teresa founded Health, Wellness & Fitness Professionals, Inc. Her practice brings optimal therapy to her clients by combining massage and personal training bodywork. She specializes in Kinesiology, Deep Tissue, Sports Massage, Strength Training, Stretching & Flexibility, Self-Care, and Self-Defense. Teresa continues serving her profession with FSMTA, AMTA, NCBTMB, and MTF has received many awards and recognition, including Sports Massage Therapist of the Year. Teresa is a 2018 Boston Marathon Finisher; she ran with Team Massage Therapy Foundation and raised $15,000 for Massage Therapy Research! And, Teresa has been inducted into the 2019 World Massage Therapy Hall of Fame!
